Stabilizing Warped Slabs

Sometimes we get calls from property owners with slabs that are warped.  In this case, the entire slab is not sinking.  Instead, there is a depression in the middle of the slab – but the edges are still level with surrounding surfaces.  This is very often an indicator of a dangerous void underneath.  It happens often in warehouses and garages.  If you see a dip in the middle of a concrete slab on your property, you need to get it checked out immediately.

As we mention on our website:

Undetected voids are a silent threat that can cause slabs and structures to sink or collapse without warning.  Neglect can result in serious injury, litigation and even death.  GCS can protect your property and assets from these possibilities with the latest void detection and void repair technologies.

Please Note: While the depressed area in the center of the concrete is sometimes resistant to the lifting process due to the warped shape that the entire slab has taken, they can still be stabilized and protected from the risk of a dangerous collapse.
